Wrap skirt with Marfa water tower on grey checks
*NOTE* this skirt is ONE of a KIND -- it's available in SMALL-MED ONLY. Please review the information carefully! Sizing is based on the measurement of the natural waist, not lower.
Unfortunately, due to the limitations of the pattern with narrow width fabrics like this cotton, I'm only able to offer it in the small/medium size. Please see photo for size parameters.
Please reference size chart to help you figure out what will work for you.
Skirts are 27" long.
A comfortable, super flattering, wrap around skirt made with a soft, checked cotton in white and grey. I hand printed a large block print of the Marfa water tower, iconic in this region, but also a nod to small towns everywhere. The inks used for the printing are made for fabrics and heat set to withstand washing. The fabric was pre-washed to give it extra softness and to assure that it will not shrink with future washings. *care instructions below
Block printing is done by hand and each printing is unique. Block printing is a method where I carve a soft rubber in relief- meaning, the design is made so that the ink adheres only to the parts I leave, the rest is carved away. I purposely leave some of the markings around the design so that the ink picks them up and gives the image more visual interest.
I chose to make wrap skirts because they're flattering and easy to keep in your closet through some minor size changes! The waist will grow or shrink with you- just tie it to fit and you're good to go.
Care: best case scenario, hand wash in cold, hang dry, iron with a warm iron or hot with press cloth.
However, this skirt can definitely be machine washed, separately, cold water, mild detergent, tumble dry low- iron as above.
The fabric will get softer over time, the design will kind of sink into the fibers, and you will love this skirt forever!
