height: 9.75 inches
adjustable strap from 32"–58"
These bags are all made with 100% cotton, custom printed fabric using a series of hand-painted photographs. *See method details below.
The front of the bag is cotton and lined with oilcloth (a thin vinyl) so that even if it gets wet, the stuff inside will stay relatively dry. The back is made with black vinyl and a zipper-topped oilcloth pocket. Oilcloth is thin, so it's not advised to put sharp objects like keys in the back pocket. Inside is an open-top pocket made with black vinyl. Adjust the strap to fit you the way you want to rock this bag, and go have fun!
*Method: Way back in the 90s I made a series of retablos that featured hand painted photographs depicting life as death... in the tradition of the Mexican holiday, Dia de los Muertos, where they celebrate the lives of the lost loved ones instead of just the sadness of their passing. I shot all the portraits using my medium format film camera called a Holga, on film, processed and printed in a darkroom, then used oil paints to paint over the bodies and any background portion to make the person appear as a skeleton. After creating an original, I scanned the images and made digital copies to use for various things- like custom fabric!
