Diver – Balmorhea State Park, Texas
Ahhhh.... the San Solomon Springs at Balmorhea State Park... if you've been, you know. You know how clear, cool, and deep the pool is. You know about the fish and turtles sharing the waters with you. And if you're daring enough, you know about the high dive. It's my favorite thing. I love parking myself by it to watch all ages step, jump, leap, dive, flip, and belly flop off the board. I'm usually found standing in line with all the kids, going off over and over again. I captured this rather dramatic dive while there one summer- I love how he's hanging from the clouds, like you do when you're out in the Western part of Texas!
Camera used: Holga
Film: Tmax 400 – 120 roll film
I develop and print all my work in a traditional darkroom first, then scan the final prints and make digital reproductions. The black edge is actually the edges of the film. I print full frame using a negative holder I created in order to show remnants of the medium of film. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy making the images.
