Think Happy – Comfort, Texas
When my family lived in Boerne, and I was in middle school, my dad would sometimes take us to a movie at the Comfort Theater. I remember the snack bar more than anything else- where my brother and I could get our own sodas and make "suicides" mixing all the flavors together. When I shot this image, it had become a performance theater. Now this building is being renovated to make it into a brewery after standing vacant and in disrepair for many years.
Camera used: Holga
Film: Tmax 400 – 120 roll film
I develop and print all my work in a traditional darkroom first, then scan the final prints and make digital reproductions. The black edge is actually the edges of the film. I print full frame using a negative holder I created in order to show remnants of the medium of film. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy making the images.
Printed on 100% cotton rag paper, titled and signed on the front with pencil. The paper surface is smooth matte. Image size does not take up the entire size of the paper (please see examples)
